Today, Team UserFriendly.Org are celebrating a millennium of crunching. Not a millennium measured in linear time, obviously. Back then, a computer was someone who was good with an abacus, and the biggest threats to health were cholera and plague.
Some things haven't changed, though. Many parts of the world still don't have clean water, and the people are vulnerable to the same centuries-old diseases. Then we have our modern diseases, and modern transport means epidemics can span the globe.
